Whether employees are feeling ill, taking care of a sick family member, or having to stay home due to school closings, employers have to be prepared, while also being aware of the various laws that apply to absent employees. Under certain circumstances, employees may qualify for leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act, or state and local leave laws.
