Business Mentoring: Why You Have to Say No

Why You Have to Say No

Time is finite. No matter whether you’re the boss or the low man on the totem pole, there are only a certain number of hours available to accomplish all the tasks that need to be done. In a world of infinite possibilities and finite time, you have to say no more than you say yes.

Every time you say yes to something, you are by necessity saying no to something else. If you’re doing one thing at a certain time, then you can’t do something else during that same time. If you’re properly focused on that one thing, then you aren’t doing anything else during that same time. Focusing your time so that it is spent on the most valuable, important contributions is important for everyone in the business.

In this session, you’ll learn:

  • Why leaders are often the biggest culprit in creating interruptions on their team
  • How to schedule meetings and discussions to keep your team focused
  • Why small businesses need to stay more agile and flexible
  • How to deal with the increase in opportunities
