Finding the Pain Point
A cool idea might inspire you and get you started on a business, but to build something that succeeds and lasts you need to find the pain point in the market. We&Co started off as a different kind of app than it is today—it was consumer-based, to thank people at restaurants. Co-founders TJ Muehleman and Jared Malan soon found that the idea didn’t solve problems for the service professionals they wanted to help, though. What they found instead was that aligning those service professionals with jobs and giving them professional profiles met a major pain point in their market. You need a strong vision for your business, but you also must find a pain point in the market and solve that pain. Always move forward, and continue reinventing yourself to provide value to your customers.
