This month, Dan Fontaine and Aaron Rolka, founders of Atlanta Beer Tours, stop by to talk shop on the Business Mentoring Show. Atlanta Beer Tours aims to connect beer enthusiasts with the best craft beer in Atlanta. They provide a unique, behind the scenes look at breweries, brewpubs and beer focused restaurants in and around the metro Atlanta area. Run by Dan Fontaine, a former stand-up comedian and fellow award-winning homebrewer Aaron Rolka, Atlanta Beer Tours promises good times and great beer.

In episode one, Dan and Aaron talk about turning a passion into a business. When an industry is growing rapidly, everyone wants to get on board. But you might find an even better opportunity by looking for things you can do that are connected to that industry—an adjacent idea. That’s how Dan and Aaron started Atlanta Beer Tours. With the craft beer scene exploding across the country, they came up with an idea that fits in the same space without having to compete with the thousands of craft breweries. They combined their passion for craft beer with inspiration from the wine tour industry to begin offering beer tours.

In this session, you’ll learn:

  • How a deep understanding of an industry can inspire related ideas
  • How to identify a rapidly growing industry
  • How restrictions on one business open opportunities for another business idea
